Q: Won't this kind of plastic panel look cheap and "plastic"?
A: Your concerns are valid; a high-gloss finish might indeed look 'plastic'. However, we primarily recommend matte or satin finishes. The recessed design with vertical lines visually elongates the space, and light hitting the textured surface creates rich layers of light and shadow, resulting in a texture that is in no way inferior to solid wood or stone. Many high-end hotels and minimalist residences use this material.
Q: Are there many color options? Will there be color differences when covering a large area?
A:Colors and wood grain can be customized, but we recommend purchasing the same batch of products for large projects in one go. This is because there may be slight color differences between different batches (ΔE>1.5), and buying enough at once will ensure the most consistent overall effect.
Q: Is this waterproof? Will it get damp and moldy if used in the bathroom or basement?
A: This is one of its biggest advantages. The water absorption rate of PVC grooved boards is less than 0.1%, meaning water molecules can hardly penetrate them. Unlike wood or MDF, it doesn't require additional sealing treatment; it's naturally moisture-proof, mildew-proof, and termite-proof, making it perfectly suitable for use in dry areas of bathrooms and basements.
Q: Is this board sturdy? Will it get dented if I accidentally bump it?
A: Its surface hardness is approximately 2H-3H, which is indeed not as good as ceramic tiles or stone. A sharp object impact may leave dents. Therefore, we generally recommend using it for feature walls in living rooms, bedrooms, and offices. For high-traffic public corridors where collisions are likely, we recommend the more impact-resistant WPC (wood-plastic composite) material.
Q: Will it turn yellow or deform if exposed to the sun for a long time?
A: Regular PVC does indeed risk yellowing and expansion/contraction due to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. However, our product contains UV stabilizers, effectively resisting ultraviolet rays. It's important to clarify that this product is primarily designed for indoor decoration; we do not recommend its use on balconies or outdoor walls exposed to prolonged sunlight. During installation, a 2-3 mm expansion joint should be left between the wall and the edge of the panel to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction.
