Advantages of Sandwich Panel

01/

Outstanding Thermal Insulation
One of the most significant attributes of sandwich panels is their exceptional thermal insulation. The insulating core material effectively reduces heat transfer, helping maintain stable interior temperatures. This feature is particularly beneficial in reducing energy costs for heating and cooling, making buildings more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.

02/

Enhanced Fire Safety
Many sandwich panels are designed with fire safety in mind. Materials like rockwool and PIR offer increased fire resistance, slowing the spread of flames and providing additional time for evacuation and firefighting efforts. This aspect is crucial in commercial and industrial buildings where fire safety is paramount.

03/

Excellent Acoustic Properties
Sandwich panels also excel in sound insulation. The density and composition of the core material can significantly reduce noise transmission, making these panels ideal for environments where soundproofing is essential, such as recording studios, industrial facilities, and office buildings.

04/

Structural Strength and Durability
Despite their lightweight nature, sandwich panels provide considerable structural strength. This strength is attributed to the composite action between the outer skins and the core, allowing the panels to withstand various loads and impacts. Their durability ensures a long lifespan with minimal maintenance, making them a cost-effective solution for many construction projects.

05/

Aesthetic Flexibility
The versatility of sandwich panels extends to their aesthetic appeal. With a variety of finishes and colors available, they can be tailored to meet specific design requirements, enhancing the visual appeal of buildings. This flexibility allows architects and designers to realize creative and visually pleasing exteriors and interiors.

06/

Eco-Friendly and Sustainable
Sandwich panels support sustainable construction practices. Their energy efficiency and durability contribute to reduced environmental impact over the building’s lifecycle. Additionally, many sandwich panels are made from recyclable materials, further promoting eco-friendly construction.

Types of Sandwich Panel

EPS Panels

EPS panels, or expanded polystyrene sandwich panels, use a polystyrene core. Because of this, EPS panels work well as an insulator and are often used in refrigeration. However, their use goes beyond this. Because of their insulating properties, EPS panels are quite versatile, and are often used in office and industrial settings as a general insulator to keep workplaces naturally cool or warm.

PIR Panels

PIR stands for polysocyanurate. Like EPS panels, PIR panels work great for insulation, often even more so. Another advantage of PIR panels is that, unlike EPS panels, the make up of the core structure is resistant to rodents, making it less susceptible to damage by pests.

XFLAM Panels

A main drawback to EPS and PIR sandwich panels is that they’re not fire resistant. XFLAM panels, on the other hand, have great insulating properties while also being resistant to fire. Like other insulating sandwich panels, XFLAM panels work well in cold storage environments, clean rooms, and the construction of processing facilities that may need temperature control.

Process of Sandwich Panel

Material Preparation: Core Material: The core material, often EPS or polyurethane, is prepared according to the required density and thickness. Metal Sheets: The outer metal sheets are cut and shaped according to design specifications.

Core Material Processing: For EPS cores, beads are pre-expanded, stabilized, and then molded into blocks before being cut to size. For polyurethane cores, the material is foamed and then cut into slabs.

Lamination Process: The core material is positioned between the metal sheets. A special lamination press is used, where adhesives are applied to bond the layers together under controlled heat and pressure.

Curing and Cooling: The sandwich panel is then left to cure, ensuring the adhesive bonds effectively, creating a strong, cohesive panel. After curing, the panels are cooled to stabilize the structure.

Finishing Touches: Panels are cut to the desired lengths. Additional features like edge profiling, protective coatings, or color finishes are applied.

Various Applications of Sandwich Panel

Cold Storage Facilities
Application: Sandwich panels are a popular choice in building cold storages and refrigerated warehouses due to their excellent thermal insulation properties.
Benefit: They help maintain consistent low temperatures essential for food preservation, pharmaceuticals, and other perishable items, while also reducing energy consumption.

Commercial and Industrial Buildings
Application: Many commercial and industrial buildings utilize sandwich panels for external and internal walls, roofs, and partitions.
Benefit: Their lightweight yet strong structure makes them suitable for large-scale facilities, contributing to faster construction and energy efficiency.

Prefabricated Structures
Application: Prefabricated homes, offices, and modular buildings often incorporate sandwich panels due to their ease of assembly.
Benefit: They allow for quick construction while maintaining high standards of thermal insulation and durability.

Clean Rooms and Controlled Environments
Application: In settings requiring controlled environments, such as laboratories, hospitals, and manufacturing units, sandwich panels are used due to their airtight nature.
Benefit: They help in maintaining clean and controlled atmospheres, which is critical in these environments.

FAQ

Q: What is the sandwich panel process?

A: Sandwich panel method: This involves bonding together two or more layers of material, such as wood or metal, with a core layer of insulation material, such as foam or honeycomb. The layers are bonded together using adhesives or mechanical fasteners to form a panel.

Q: What does a sandwich panel consist of?

A: A sandwich panel consists of two parts: the top and bottom are made of steel, with PIR insulation foam in between. PIR is an insulating material. We offer two different types of sandwich panels: wall panels and roof panels. From an aesthetic point of view, SAB sandwich panels offer endless possibilities.

Q: What are the layers of a sandwich panel?

A: A typical sandwich panel system consists of two layers of reinforced concrete separated by a layer of rigid insulation. This layer will be 125–200 mm thick and provides the bulk of the thermal benefits if located inside the insulation layer.

Q: How does a sandwich panel work?

A: In a sandwich panel these forces create tension in the upper skin and compression in the lower skin. The core spaces the facing skins and transfers shear between them to make the composite panel work as a homogeneous structure. The deflection of a sandwich panel is made up from bending and shear components.

Q: What is the lifespan of a sandwich panel?

A: In terms of structural strength, sandwich panels can last more than 20 years if properly installed and regularly maintained. There are also other factors to consider, such as the chemical stability of the materials used, milling and cutting tolerance, bolting and joining aspects, grooving patterns, etc.

As one of the most professional sandwich panel manufacturers and suppliers in China, we offer a wide range of products with superior quality. Please feel free to wholesale cheap sandwich panel from our factory. Thank you for your interest in our products.
